5 Motorbike Day Trips You Can Ride Straight From Sathorn
Once you're comfortable in city traffic, Bangkok's edges open up some of the best riding in the region — all reachable in an afternoon on a rented scooter.
Bang Krachao — the "green lung"
A short bike-ferry crossing from Khlong Toei takes you to a car-light island of raised jungle boardwalks, fruit orchards, and quiet lanes. It's one of the few places in Bangkok where a scooter feels genuinely peaceful. Budget half a day, and go on a weekday to skip the ferry queue.
Ancient Siam (Muang Boran)
About an hour southeast of the city, this open-air park recreates Thailand's most famous temples and monuments at scale across sprawling grounds — riding between them is half the fun. Roads inside are wide and easy; the ride out is mostly straightforward surface roads.
Bang Nam Pheung floating market
A local, low-key alternative to the touristy floating markets — mostly Thai visitors, canal-side food stalls, and an easy weekend-morning ride from Sathorn through Phra Pradaeng.
